Jared will talk about the legality of flying drones for the purposes of making maps. His discussion will include the various ways you may determine the legality in your jurisdiction and what various boards and committees may have a say over these matters.
He will also discuss some of the pending lawsuits in NC and how that may affect the rest of the industry. We may also touch on how you might work within the confines of the law to service your customers.
About the speaker:
Jared Janacek is a seasoned drone industry professional and the founder of Texas Drone Company, a drone service provider for industry specializing in the Mining, Survey and Construction Industries. With a commitment to precision and innovation, Texas Drone Company delivers high-quality unmanned services from Colorado to Mississippi.
Alongside leading his company, Jared teaches mapping courses at the Pilot Institute, where he shares his expertise with the next generation of UAS professionals. He has also served in several leadership roles within the Lone Star Chapter of AUVSI, including as Chapter President, championing education, safety, and growth in the unmanned systems sector. As a founding member of the Drone Service Providers Alliance, he works to ensure the voices of small and mid-sized drone operators are heard in national policy discussions.
Jared is an active advocate for the unmanned industry through his involvement with numerous trade associations, including the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS), the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), and the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). His cross-disciplinary engagement helps bridge the gap between traditional industries and modern UAS capabilities.
